With the many things that were cancelled in the last year, the Brand Subbie Cup Golf Day that was due to happen in 2020 was a great loss! Thankfully, one year later, the Brand Subbie Cup social networking opportunity and fundraiser was able to happen, and it was a great success!
Brand Subbie Cup coordinator, Fred Baker, organised a fantastic meet and greet for fellow contractors to enjoy a game of golf and raise money for the Muswellbrook Under 13's Representative Netball team.
A Winning Team
The local Muswellbrooks Under 13’s have been playing competitive ‘B’ grade Netball, which for some of these girls is two levels above their local team grades! This winning team won 4 of their 6 matches against girls who are much older and experienced last year, even narrowly losing against the defending grand-finalists!
This is great to see and even more reason to raise money to support them and enjoy a great day of social networking and golf!
A Triumphant Fundraiser
Throughout the season, Brand saw great support and sponsorship from various companies and business owners.
During the fundraiser, team golf prizes were given out, including shirts, hats, beanies, and stubby coolers.
A successful auction and raffle also commenced where companies supplied exciting auction items. We at BRIKEN Group also contributed to a group raffle donation which was a Baby-Q Webber BBQ, along with a number of smaller items that were donated and raised a large sum for the girls ’team.
To make the most of the day, we also entered in a team to compete on the day, which was super entertaining even though we had non-existent golfing skills.
It was a successful day of networking with local subcontractors, catching up and meeting new businesses. It was also a great day to promote our company and unwind with staff and relax once the golf was done.
With a successful networking and fundraiser event in the bag, we look forward to next years Brand Subbie Cup Golf day, where we at BRIKEN Group can once again contribute to the group raffle donation and enjoy a day of networking and unwinding with local subcontractors!
